Paul is a Senior Law Costs Draftsman and heads up the R Costings Budgeting team. He has provided training both internally and to Solicitors and Counsel alike on Costs Budgeting and the other Jackson reforms.
Paul has appeared at numerous events concerning Costs Budgeting and Jackson pre and post 1 April 2013, and has spoken amongst others on a Panel featuring Martin Spencer QC and Master Cook, and at 9 Gough Square Chambers annual Personal Injury Seminar.
Paul has 15 years’ experience dealing with Legal Costs, both in-house (having previously worked for a firm of solicitors ranked No. 1 in the Legal 500 for Personal Injury) and for independent costs drafting firms.
He deals primarily with high value catastrophic injury and clinical negligence claims involving complex issues. Paul was involved in a notable case attending at Detailed Assessment before Master Gordon-Saker where it was successfully argued a Bill of Costs drawn in excess of £243,000.00 was proportionate, notwithstanding that the damages recovered in the original claim were only £12,000.00.
Away from the office Paul is a keen football fan, enthusiastic music and record collector and enjoys spending time at home with his wife and young son.
