Experience
Joe began his career as a Trainee Costs Draftsman in 2003, dealing with large volume personal injury cases, and following a move to the City of London in 2008 Joe began to expand his skill set in all areas of costs, dealing with a wide range of cases from high value catastrophic injury and clinical negligence to complex and high value commercial litigation.
Joe has extensive experience in acting on behalf of both paying and receiving parties. Dealing with cases from "cradle to grave" Joe engages with clients from the outset of costs management by preparing Precedent H Costs Budgets and monitoring solicitors' workloads to ensure that Costs Management Orders are complied with throughout the life of the case.
Joe has extensive experience in preparing Bills of Costs in all manner of cases as well as dealing with all steps in costs assessment proceedings whether instructed to recover or oppose costs.
Joe is often instructed to represent clients at Costs and Case Management Conferences, detailed assessment hearings and costs related applications and has extensive experience within the Senior Courts Costs Office and County Courts nationwide.
Outside of inter partes costs proceedings, Joe is also experienced with Court of Protection costs, costs recovery from the public purse and costs assessment brought under Section 69 of the Solicitors Act 1974.
Since joining R Costings, Joe has become an integral and valued member of the team. By applying his knowledge and experience Joe consistently obtains excellent results for new and existing clients alike, both in an advisory and practical capacity. In addition, since the introduction of the electronic Bill of Costs, Joe has developed a comprehensive understanding of the relevant software and guidance to ensure that clients' costs remain in safe hands.
Joe has also presented a number of training seminars on various ever-evolving issues as proportionality, costs management and costs recovery.
