** Although a guidleine figure is given for the top grade of fee earner in the City of London, it is recognised that in certain complex major commercial litigation the appropriate rate may exceed the guideline by a significant margin. ***The wide range of rates given for the upper grades of fee earner in Outer London accommodates the fact that many sole practitioners and small partnerships practise in the area as well as very large firms. This factor must be taken into acount in deciding what rate of charge to allow. |
